Wisdom

Dear Saints of Trinity,

As we’ve been reflecting on that prayer we are saying about this transition we are in, my mind is also on this word, “wisdom.” Scripture is full of references to God’s people seeking after what it means to have wisdom, to share wisdom, and even to lose it.

Researcher, storyteller, and Texan, Brené Brown, PhD writes, “Regret is one of the most powerful emotional reminders that reflection, change, and growth are necessary. When used constructively, it’s a call to courage and a path to wisdom.”

Anglican Divine, C.S. Lewis once said, “No great wisdom can be reached without sacrifice.”

While I don’t sense the path we are on is in search of GREAT wisdom, I do sense it is a path of courage. One that will, like Brené says, require “reflection, change, and growth” for us to prepare for this next season in your shared life together.
