“The morning sun summons a thousand Alleluias.” P. Twomey

Dear sisters and brothers in Christ,

Seeing the sunrise over the Atlantic is one of my favorite things.  Going out at first light as the sky begins to show colors, I sit in silent prayer waiting for the first sign of the sun itself. A sliver of deep orange quickly becomes the whole sun; too bright, too much light to see with bare eyes.  The camera captures its strange beauty.  The orange orb of our sun looks like a solid thing, rising in one spot. But of course all the light, all the colors, everything coming out of the night darkness is part of the sun’s being–the light is everywhere.  The morning sun summons a thousand Alleluias indeed!

As we head into the fall season of our life together at Trinity Church, we awake each morning with the opportunity to begin anew.  Fall is a busy time for most of us with school and sports, end of the year goals looming at work, or simply planning for and anticipating the upcoming holidays we enjoy with family and friends.  Fall can also be a time to renew your faith practices by coming regularly to worship on Sundays, joining the Wednesday Women’s Bible Study, volunteering in our Sunday School, bringing your family to an outreach project like Build a Bed, or zooming Noonday Prayer on Wednesdays at noon.  There are so very many ways to encourage each other in our faith and to be a friend to those who are lonely or in need.

  • How is God calling you to serve in this new season?

  • What might be new for you in your relationship with the Son-the One who is Risen to new life?

  • How can your participation in worship and fellowship, outreach and prayer strengthen our community and your own experience of God in community?

Your clergy are here to walk the faith journey with you.  Fr. CJ and I love to hear from you and to pray with you in times of joy and in times of sorrow and challenge, so please reach out to us anytime.

Trinity Church is here for you and for your family.  Trinity Church is here for the wider community and the world.  Together, our prayers reach to the heavens, so be a part of the voices crying “Alleluia” as the sun rises on our days, with the promise of God’s enduring love.

In Christ,

Nancy+
