Concord Prison Outreach:  Holiday Gift Bags Project & Caroling Night

Trinity has been supporting the Concord Prison Outreach (CPO) for over 40 years!  Did you know our church was one of the three original denominations that initiated the annual Christmas Caroling?  Every year we invite CPO to use our Undercroft as a collection center (for over 35 churches and other groups). Our Undercroft is transformed near the end of November through mid-December, for volunteers to assemble over 1000 gift bags of toiletries and writing paper, which are then given to every inmate during the holiday season.

Join us during coffee hour on Sunday, December 1 to create handmade cards for those in our local prison. Let’s bring a message of caring and hope to them over the holidays. Often the gift and card is the only present they may receive. If you choose to make some at home ahead of time, it is important to follow the Department of Correction (DOC) guidelines. See this 2019 CPO Fact Sheet for more information on card making, offering donations, or helping with the assembly of the gift bags.

Come, add your voice to CPO’s Caroling Night on December 6 at Northeastern Correctional Center – 965 Barretts Mill Road, Concord, MA in the evening, 6:45-9:00pm.  Celebrate the joy of the holiday season at this annual event where incarcerated men, community members and prison staff gather together.  We will sing carols, listen to a message from a pastor, and enjoy refreshments and fellowship.  Pre-registration is required and must be received by November 29.  Go to their website and follow their specific guidelines.
