Blessing of the Backpacks, Registration & More

A new school year is upon us and many children and youth are feeling a variety of emotions ranging from hopefulness, excitement and anticipation to feelings of anxiety. We at Trinity want them to know that we are here to support them and pray with them as they embark on a new journey. Invite them to come (with their backpacks!) to the 10 am service on Sunday, September 8 to receive a blessing and a small token to carry with them as a reminder of God’s abiding presence in their lives.

Stay after church that day to register them for nursery, church school or youth group, as well as our other equally important Christian formation programs, such as junior & youth choirs, youth group, acolytes, youth ushers & lectors, classroom assistants & more! And don’t forget to bring them to the Undercroft to meet their teachers at our annual Church School Open House. Finding their room and meeting their teachers will make it easier the following Sunday, September 15, when church school & youth group start. And, parents, please introduce yourselves to your children’s teachers. Teachers really like to get to know you, too!

More information about the Registration Process: You have a choice of registering your children and youth using our online form (link here) or completing a hardcopy form at the registration table on Sundays. Please help us by registering early, preferably before or on September 8. Keep in mind that children must be registered before the first day of class on September 15.

More information about our Nursery, Church School & Youth Group: We start on Sunday, September 15! Be sure to join us after the 10 am service for Milkshakes on the Porch!

We offer 4 classes during the 10 am worship service. Nursery (4 year olds & under), Godly Play (4- 7 year olds), and Feasting on the Word used by our Grade 2 – 5 class and Grade 5 – 8 class. We ask parents to decide which class best fits their own child’s developmental needs. Church School classes run about 35 minutes and the children will join you in the service before the Eucharist. Nursery remains open through 11:45 am each Sunday.

Youth Group typically meets on Sundays after the service from around 11:30 am – 12:30 pm, but they will be planning to meet at other times for special programming as the need arises.
